US President Donald Trump has sacked his security adviser John Bolton.
Trump wrote that he announced to John Bolton late last night that his services were no longer needed in the White House.
President Trump said he did not approve of his proposal, adding that he would appoint a new adviser next week.
Bolton's dismissal came amid reports of divisions between members of the House over canceling talks with the Taliban that were invited to the United States.
Mr. Bolton is the third person to hold office in the Trump administration since April 2018, following Michael Flynn and HR McMaster.
Secretary of State Stephanie Grisham told reporters that "Bolton and Trump have different plans."
On his part, Mr Bolton wrote on his Twitter account that he had written a letter of resignation last Monday.
According to the White House, Mr Bolton hosted a press conference at the White House with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Secretary of the Treasury, Mali Mnuchin, two hours before the announcement. Trump dismissed him.
Several sources said the National Security Council, which advises the president, has become isolated from the White House under Bolton's leadership.
