Economic committee: Some claim that Osinbajo has been weakened

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has inaugurated a cabinet that gives economic advice to the president.
This was followed by the dismantling of the country's Economic Council, chaired by Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo.

But in talks with Ibrahim Isa, the president's personal assistant to the media, Mallam Garba Shehu said that was not the case.
Garba Shehu said the council was set up as it has advisers in various fields of government.
"If this committee sits down to talk and make recommendations, the president will be proposed, and the president and his deputy are the same," he said.
According to him, the committee is expected to help tackle the country's economic problems.
The president's spokesman said the previous security committee had failed in the economic sector.
But he said the government saw it was time to change tactics.
