Nigerians respond to South African companies

In Nigeria, some people have been attacked in what appears to be revenge attacks on South African shopping malls in Ikko.
Witnesses told the BBC that a South African shopping mall in Lekki had been destroyed.
Another witness reported seeing two people lying near the street outside the store.
Vehicles stuck in traffic are also damaged, as passengers flee.
Authorities in Nigeria have yet to confirm reports of casualties or deaths.
The government has called on Nigerians to refrain from attacking South African businesses.

What is the situation of foreigners in South Africa?

For this, the BBC contacted a Nigerian resident of the South African city of Johanasbag.
Ibrahim Peter Peter describes the situation of foreigners in an interview with the BBC:
"The violence originated when a Tanzanian traveled to a neighborhood to sell drugs."
"It was drugs and young people used to smoke and put in a cigarette. Some taxi drivers in the area prevented the boy from going to the neighborhood, but he refused," he said.
"So they arrested him and he was there. He then went home and picked up a gun and shot one of the attackers," Abraham Peter said.
He told the BBC that the Nigerians were responsible for the crime and that they were under attack.
He also said the fire started in the capital Pretoria, before it later spread to Johannesburg
