Boko Haram kill 12 people in Niger

Authorities in Niger say suspected Boko Haram militants killed 12 people in Gueskerou, a town on the border with Nigeria.
The attackers raided Lamana in Gueskerou County on Friday, entering the town on motorcycles, locals told the BBC.
Residents say they shot in the air and killed the men with knives.
The attackers left the town of Salim without safety because there were no security forces in the area.
Gueskerou Mayor Hussaini Boucary told the BBC that those who died early Saturday were buried.
The attack took place just two days after a similar operation in the cities of Konduga, Gubio and Magumeri, Borno State.
Reports say the attack was carried out by Boko Haram fighters loyal to IS.
One soldier was killed and one was wounded and several civilians were wounded, and the affected homes and other government buildings.
